House ar­rest or­dered in drug pos­ses­sion case

TRURO, N.S. — A Truro man who pled guilty to pos­sess­ing mar­i­juana for trafficking pur­poses was re­cently given a 12-month con­di­tional sen­tence in pro­vin­cial court.

Sean An­gus Mur­ray, 44, of Prince Street, must serve the first six months of his sen­tence un­der house ar­rest.

He was also fined $260 af­ter plead­ing guilty to pro­duc­ing mar­i­juana.

Sen­tenc­ing con­di­tions in­clude not pos­sess­ing il­licit drugs with­out a valid pre­scrip­tion or other le­gal au­tho­riza­tion and that he not be on the premises of es­tab­lish­ments where al­co­hol is a pri­mary prod­uct of sale (with the ex­cep­tion of liquor stores).
