Score of 62 wins Elks golf scramble

BROOKFIELD, N.S. — The team of Jack Roop, Brent Harrison, Brookes vantassell, Cory Sutherland and Brad Sutherland carded a round of 8-under-par 62 to capture the open division of the 29th annual Brookfield Elks Golf Scramble. More than 100 players participated in the event, which raises funds for recreation and sports registrations and facility development in Brookfield for all ages in eight sports.

The team of Jayson Moore, Ryan and Terra Sutherland and Patrick and Petra Stewart was second in the open division with a round of 64, while Kurtis Porter, Sheldon Archibald, Gerry Buott and Mike and Donna Newby had 65. Winners in the other division were Stan Wood, Bonnie Hebb, Brian Campbell, Neil Teas and Dave Thornham (68). Runnersup by retro were Brad Bonner, Mark Lush, Sheldon Brown, and Scott Skinner (68). Third with 70 was the team of Derek Dean, Charles Bowers, Brenda Henderson and Donna Bonner. Closest to the pin winners on the 166-yard ninth hole were Dan Dean (2’ 3”), Wade Conrad (8’ 8”) and Shawna Gloade (10’ 8”).
