Diane Daniels Live racing re­turns Sept. 14

With the Colch­ester Highland Games be­ing held this week­end at the Nova Sco­tia Pro­vin­cial Ex­hi­bi­tion grounds and in the cen­ter­field of the Truro Race­way, there will be no live har­ness racing Fri­day, Sept. 7.

Live racing will re­turn to the race­way on Fri­day, Sept. 14. Post-time is 6:30 p.m.

Scores win 100

Lo­cal team­ster Tammy Mackay recorded her 100th life­time vic­tory on Fri­day, Aug. 31 in the opener with her dad, Em­mons Mackay’s, Su­per Shadow, cov­er­ing the ground in 201.3 to give the three-year-old daugh­ter of Shadow Play a new ca­reer mark.

Giv­ing back

Dawn El­lis’ philanthropy is well rec­og­nized at the Truro Race­way and this past week­end was yet an­other ex­am­ple of her gen­eros­ity. El­lis, do­nated her purse money win­nings from both Truro Race­way’s Fri­day evening pro­gram as well as the purses from Ex­hi­bi­tion Park Race­way, Saint John, N.B. on Satur­day af­ter­noon to the fam­i­lies of the vic­tims of the re­cent Fred­er­ic­ton shoot­ings.

EPR ac­tion Satur­day

Saint John’s Ex­hibiton Park Race­way will be on deck Satur­day af­ter­noon with ex­cit­ing har­ness racing ac­tion.

Last week­end’s pro­gram in­cluded sev­eral Truro con­nec­tions on the card, in­clud­ing Don El­lis, Ge­orge, An­drea and Ry­der Ren­ni­son, Dawn El­lis, Clay­ton Stevens, Steve Mor­ton and Nick and Sarah White. Team­sters Dale Spence and Todd Trites have also been reg­u­lars at the Saint John plant dur­ing the sum­mer months. Post-time Satur­day is 1 p.m.
