Diane Daniels Live racing returns Sept. 14
With the Colchester Highland Games being held this weekend at the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition grounds and in the centerfield of the Truro Raceway, there will be no live harness racing Friday, Sept. 7.
Live racing will return to the raceway on Friday, Sept. 14. Post-time is 6:30 p.m.
Scores win 100
Local teamster Tammy Mackay recorded her 100th lifetime victory on Friday, Aug. 31 in the opener with her dad, Emmons Mackay’s, Super Shadow, covering the ground in 201.3 to give the three-year-old daughter of Shadow Play a new career mark.
Dawn Ellis’ philanthropy is well recognized at the Truro Raceway and this past weekend was yet another example of her generosity. Ellis, donated her purse money winnings from both Truro Raceway’s Friday evening program as well as the purses from Exhibition Park Raceway, Saint John, N.B. on Saturday afternoon to the families of the victims of the recent Fredericton shootings.

EPR action Saturday
Saint John’s Exhibiton Park Raceway will be on deck Saturday afternoon with exciting harness racing action.
Last weekend’s program included several Truro connections on the card, including Don Ellis, George, Andrea and Ryder Rennison, Dawn Ellis, Clayton Stevens, Steve Morton and Nick and Sarah White. Teamsters Dale Spence and Todd Trites have also been regulars at the Saint John plant during the summer months. Post-time Saturday is 1 p.m.
