Anyone interested in learning more about what takes place at the Nova Scotia Community College is invited to stop by the Truro campus for an open house Oct. 18.

“It’s quite hands- on,” said Truro campus principal Lech Krzywonos. “It’s a good chance for people to sample things and talk to faculty and students, and see what it’s like to come here.

“ e biggest thing is helping students make the right choices. is is an opportunity to give students a heads up on what to expect. ey can see what’s on o er, program and support wise.”

A bonus for future students is the application fee will be waived for those who apply.

While the morning will be focused on high school students, anyone can attend, and there will be lots of time when it’s not too crowded, as the open house runs until 7 p.m. Tours for the public will run from 2 to 7 p.m. Members of the public will also be permit- ted to park on campus that day.

e library will be the central space for people to gather.

“We welcome not only perspective students, but parents, grandparents, neighbours…” said Krzywonos. “Just come and learn what’s happening. If you’ve always driven by and wondered what happens, this is the day to come and see.”
