Coun­try Blend ap­pear­ing in Truro

Some of the true le­gends of coun­try mu­sic will be paid trib­ute to Wed­nes­day dur­ing a con­cert fea­tur­ing the group Coun­try Blend.

The event is be­ing held Oct. 10 at St. An­drew’s United Church in Truro. It be­gins at 7:30 p.m.; ad­mis­sion is $20 at the door.

Coun­try Blend is a Man­i­to­b­a­based group of three men and two women. They all come from farm­ing back­grounds and started tour­ing in Novem­ber 2004.

The group’s two-hour shows are a blend of tra­di­tional coun­try mu­sic and coun­try gospel, hence their name.

Their mu­sic in­cludes works of Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, Loretta Lynn and Dolly Par­ton, among oth­ers

Coun­try Blend is de­scribed as a high en­ergy group full of rhythm, great har­mony and fan­tas­tic pi­ano play­ing. All con­certs and shows are per­formed at an easy lis­ten­ing vol­ume. The long-time en­ter­tain­ers have 10 com­pact disc re­leases un­der their belts, and their style has been de­scribed “old time coun­try.”
