With the annual Atlantic Breeders Crown championships and the Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale in full swing this weekend on P.E.I., Truro has moved the regular Friday evening race program to Monday, Oct. 8 with a 1 p.m. post-time.
Quali ers are set noon.
Horseman Darren Crowe topped two divisions and partnered in a third to sweep the September Clarence Farm Services Ltd. categories.
Darren surpassed all on the leaderboard with 59 points and six rst-place nishes in 21 starts to capture Cool Driver recognition while also nabbing September’s leading trainer, picking up 51 points in 16 starts over nearest rival George Rennison, accumulating 36 points for the month.
Hot Horse accolades went – for the second consecutive month – to the sea- soned 14-year old pacer, Montreal Phil, for connections Dawn Ellis and Je Ellis and conditioner Darren Crowe. Three regular contenders tied for second in the Hot Horse group, each accruing 14 points – Just Wave Goodbye for David Macdonald and Steve Morton, Dragons Fire for Peter Jardine and Virgina Merner and Only One Star for Anthony Stymest, Ken Hardie and Don Ling.

Trites captures title Reinsman Todd Trites notched 17 wins at Exhibition Park Raceway, Saint John, N.B. to capture the 2018 driving title while another of Truro’s regular visiting teamsters,
Dale Spence, nished in second spot in the driving challenge ,recording 14 victories on the leaderboard
