Woman guilty of having illegal tobacco
TRURO, N.S. — A Beaver Bank woman who pled guilty in Truro provincial court to transporting, offering to sell or possessing unstamped tobacco was given a five-month conditional sentence.
Lisette Marie Vallee, 76, was charged last February in Lower Truro after she was found to be in possession of 1,040 cartons of unstamped cigarettes. Vallee is to spend the first month of her conditional sentence under house arrest. She was also handed a $100 victim surcharge fine.
