It’s Mu­sic Week in Truro


This week­end of­fers peo­ple a chance to both hear some favourite singers and dis­cover some new ones.

Nova Sco­tia Mu­sic Week (NSMW) runs to­day through Satur­day, Nov. 4, bring­ing more than 90 mu­si­cal acts to Truro.

Per­form­ers in­clude well­known names such as Ge­orge Canyon, Aly­cia Put­nam, Alert the Medic, Gar­rett Ma­son, Makayla Lynn, Port Cities, Roxy & The Un­der­ground Soul Sound, The Stan­fields, and The Town He­roes.

Mu­si­cians will be on stage at the Marigold Cul­tural Cen­tre, Hol­i­day Inn, Belly Up BBQ & Grill, Royal Cana­dian Le­gion, and The Nook & Cranny Brew Pub, with chil­dren’s en­ter­tain­ers at the Truro branch of the Colch­esterEast Hants Pub­lic Li­brary.

NSMW is owned and op­er­ated by Mu­sic Nova Sco­tia.

Along with show­cas­ing es­tab­lished and emerg­ing artists to the pub­lic, it pro­vides work­shops, re­cep­tions, networking op­por­tu­ni­ties, and an in­ter­na­tional and do­mes­tic buy­ers pro­gram.

Mu­si­cians per­form Thurs­day, Fri­day and Satur­day evenings, with both af­ter­noon and evening shows at Belly Up Bar & Grill on Satur­day.

The nom­i­nees for chil­dren’s artist of the year- Razzmatazz for Kids, Lit­tle Miss Mof­fat, and Matt the Mu­sic Man will be on stage at the li­brary 11 a.m. on Satur­day. NSMW will con­clude on Sun­day, with the Mu­sic Nova Sco­tia Awards Cel­e­bra­tion at the Hol­i­day Inn.

Tick­ets can be pur­chased on­line at, or pay at the door, with en­try to all venues sub­ject to ca­pac­ity.
