ere are eight dashes of en­ter­tain­ing har­ness rac­ing ac­tion on tap Sun­day with a 1 p.m. post time. Qual­i­fy­ing ses­sions are sched­uled for 11:45 a.m.

Due to last week­end’s in­clement weather, the 2018 Hot Horse and Cool Driver pre­sen­ta­tions by Clarence Farm Ser­vices were resched­uled to this Sun­day.

Pam Macken­zie, Pu­rina certi ed equine con­sul­tant, will be on hand for the win­ners’ cir­cle pre­sen­ta­tions.

Who’s hot

One of Truro Race­way’s most pop­u­lar team­sters, Dar­ren Crowe, sits atop the leader board for driv­ers car­ry­ing a cur­rent to­tal of 44 for 2018.

Crowe was on a tear last Sun­day log­ging a nat­u­ral hat trick in Races 2, 3 and 4 with Bad­lan­dia (Paula White); Sil­ver Hill King (Dawn El­lis ); and Catch Twenty Two (William Shearer, Robert Site­man and Charles Piper Jr) as well as post­ing a sin­gle in the sixth with fan favourite, Mon­treal Phil (Dawn El­lis and Je El­lis).

Con­nec­tions, An­drea Rennison and Ry­der Matthews Rennison, lead the way for the “win­ningest” own­ers at the Race­way. With 113 starts in the books ac­cu­mu­lat­ing 27 wins, 17 sec­onds and 17 thirds for to­tal purse earn­ings of $28,345, the stock out of the Rennison Camp are in­di­cat­ing they are t, happy and up to the chal­lenges.

Top trainer, year to date, ac­cord­ing to Stan­dard­bred Canada Uni­ver­sal Train­ers Rat­ing Sys­tem, is Ge­orge Rennison with 128 starts, 32 wins, 17 sec­onds and 18 thirds with a bank ac­count of $32,052.

Rennison shows win­ning 25 per cent of his train­ing starts. Sec­ond is Dar­ren Crowe with 83 starts, $30,732 in purse earn­ings and win­ning 31.3 per cent of his races, where listed the trainer of record.

Fresh stock

Lo­cal horse­man, Kurt Harper and his daugh­ter, Bria, have re­cently added fresh stock to their sta­ble pur­chas­ing an eight-yearold son of Four Starzz Shark, Stars Above, out of the Gre­gory Weather­bee string, Char­lot­te­town. The eight-year-old pacer shows a life’s best of 150.2 over Har­rahs Philadel­phia and to­tal ca­reer earn­ings of $168,233.
