Police in Kings County were called to rescue motorists several times during the Feb. 13 blizzard.

Kings District RCMP spokesperson Kelli Gaudet said 30 of the 44 calls for service that came in between 8 a.m. Feb. 13 and 8 a.m. Feb. 14. were related to the weather.

“They were mainly stranded motorists or minor collisions, which were in no specific location,” said Gaudet, who added that there were no reports of serious injuries.

Several alerts were issued to the public asking for non-essential travel to be postponed during the blizzard, which brought 61 centimetres of snow to Greenwood alone.
