Boat rescue occurs off Harbourville
One fishing boat captain came to the rescue of another on May 3 off the Fundy shore.
The Krista M with Josh Banks and his father aboard were fishing for halibut when they ran out of fuel. The boat was anchored, but bobbed around for several hours until the tide was high. Then another local captain, Vance Dixon in the Dakota & Boys, was able to go out and pull the Krista M into the wharf at Harbourville.
“It was quite a day,” said Josh’s mother, Holly, noting, “They’re going out again tomorrow. It is a lifestyle.”
A former fisher herself, she added that while waiting for a tow, they observed a great white shark in the Bay of Fundy.
