Man en­ters guilty plea in Kentville Ma­sonic Lodge theft case

A Kentville man has pleaded guilty to one count of theft over $5,000.

Daniel Gordon Parks, 60, changed his plea to guilty dur­ing an ap­pear­ance in Kentville pro­vin­cial court Oct. 30.

The charge against Parks stems from an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into com­plaints of theft from the Kentville Ma­sonic Lodge As­so­ci­a­tion.

Ac­cord­ing to in­for­ma­tion filed in court doc­u­ments, the thefts oc­curred be­tween July 12, 2015 and Dec. 6, 2016.

Parks is sched­uled to re­turn to Kentville pro­vin­cial court Feb. 14, 2018 for a pre-sen­tence re­port and sen­tenc­ing.

A Brook­lyn Corner man has some fines to pay fol­low­ing his day in court.

An­drew Michael Laing, 30, ap­peared in Kentville pro­vin­cial court for sen­tenc­ing Oct. 30.

Laing en­tered guilty pleas for two charges, fail­ing to com­ply with a pro­ba­tion or­der and un­law­fully pos­sess­ing cannabis (less than 30 grams).

He was fined $300 for fail­ing to obey the con­di­tions of pro­ba­tion, and or­dered to pay an ad­di­tion $150 for the pos­ses­sion charge.

The of­fences oc­curred Dec. 22.
