RCMP in­ves­ti­gat­ing armed rob­bery at Irv­ing Big Stop on Prospect Road

call about an armed rob­bery at the Irv­ing Big Stop on Prospect Road. The sus­pect, de­scribed as a male, ap­prox­i­mately 30 years old, was wear­ing a black hoodie with a face mask, black pants and gloves.

He was hold­ing a hand­gun and told the clerk to open the safe. The clerk wasn’t able to get the safe open, so the man took all the cash from the reg­is­ter, stuffed it into his pock­ets and ran from the store headed east.

No one was in­jured and there were no other peo­ple in the store at the time. RCMP of­fi­cers flooded the area but were un­able to lo­cate the sus­pect. The in­ves­ti­ga­tion is con­tin­u­ing with an RCMP po­lice dog and han­dler check­ing the area for ev­i­dence and RCMP Foren­sic Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion Ser­vices ex­am­in­ing the scene. Po­lice will also be ex­am­in­ing sur­veil­lance video.
