BUSINESSMAN DAVIDYUILL OFTEN ENTERTAINS CLIENTS, and when he does he invites them to U&I Thai. This upscale restaurant fits his needs for sophisticated dining that provides spectacular gastronomy and excellence in customer service.

U& I Thai is garnering glowing r eviews for inspiring and authentic flavours of owner Ui Ratsomjit’s native country. Many Thai expatriates and local government dignit aries boast its accolades. Recently, the Royal Thai Consulate General in Vancouver awarded it the prestigious Thai Select Premium Gold Seal of Approval.

Originally from the Isaan Region of Northeast Thailand, Ui honed her culinary skills on her mother’s cooking. The aspiring restaurateur then operated her own street food stall in Bangkok before moving to Canada more than a decade ago.

At U&I Thai, it’s not just about the delicious food; it’s about engaging the senses. The artistically plated presentation, the warm contemporary décor with rich dark woods and Thai music softly playing satisfies the eye, nose and palate.

At the helm of the kitchen is award-winning executive chef A-Ngun Phutyaem. She brings to life Ui’s vision for traditional Thai flavours. Having worked at a five-star hotel in Thailand, Phutyaem stays true to the Thai tenets of sour, sweet, salty and spice, making U&I Thai a perfect example of fine cuisine.

Whether guests start their culinary adventure with Isaan sausages or Isaan lettuce wraps, before carrying on to traditional dishes such as Pad Thai, everyone leaves having experienced a truly wonderful dining adventure.
