Restaurant­s, ordered to close a week prior, were being given a (thin) lifeline in that the province was going to allow them to sell some of their wine with the purchase of a takeout meal. Baby steps, to be sure, but welcome to an owner with an expensive cellar and bills coming out their ears. And there are murmurs that the change will stick after the pandemic. Next up: rolling the discussion of added patio space into something permanent—stay tuned.
