Mercedes A-Class coming to North America

-

Starting this year, Mercedes-Benz will sell the A-Class in North America. Until now, the A-Class had been offered primarily in Europe as a hatchback. However, when it crosses the Atlantic next year, it will be sold alongside the CLA as a sedan targeting younger buyers. “It’s a very attractive car for younger people,” Britta Segger, Mercedes’ global sales chief, told Automotive News. “But not only for younger people. It can have a broad audience because it’s a nice entrance into the Mercedes-Benz family” The A-Class will share a front-drive platform and turbocharged four-cylinder engines with the B, CLA and GLA models. One of those engines would likely be an updated version of the 2.0-litre turbo-four from the current CLA 250. There might also be a hybrid. Canadian debut details aren’t known yet.
