‘DICTATORSHIP’ FEAR, PANDEMIC CITED IN LETTER BY ACCUSED

The man who allegedly crashed his truck through the gates of Rideau Hall wrote a two-page letter claiming that Canada was becoming a communist dictatorship, according to a Global News report. Corey Barclay Hurren, a 46-year-old member of the Canadian Armed Forces, was arrested last Thursday and faces 22 charges. In the letter, Global News reported, Hurren said the pandemic was causing a loss of government accountability and that he had lost work, and feared he would lose his position with the Canadian Rangers.
