Toronto’s one-day book ex­trav­a­ganza re­lo­cated lake­side in 2015 and hasn’t looked back. This year’s spe­cial guests in­clude Mo­nia Mazigh, Emma Donoghue and David Suzuki. The free event, in its 27th year, runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Stay for the whole day, or drop by for a few sched­uled events. In­ter­na­tional Fes­ti­val of Au­thors

Although it now pro­duces year­round lit­er­ary se­ries through its Lit­er­acy On Tour, Toronto Lit Up, and In­ter­na­tional Vis­i­tors pro­grams, plus a weekly read­ing se­ries, the main In­ter­na­tional Fes­ti­val of Au­thors (IFOA) event is the Fes­ti­val. The 38th IFOA of­fers read­ings, in­ter­views, artist talks, roundtable dis­cus­sions, book sign­ings and other spe­cial events spread over 11 days (com­plete sched­ule TBA). Eden Mills Writ­ers’ Fes­ti­val

An hour’s drive from down­town Toronto, the pic­turesque ham­let of Eden Mills plays host to an out­door Writ­ers’ Fes­ti­val each fall. Fea­tur­ing fic­tion and creative non­fic­tion work­shops with Lisa Moore and a dis­cus­sion with Naomi Klein in Guelph on Sept. 9, as well as a Youth Writ­ing Work­shop on Sept. 25, the main event is on Sept. 10 in the cen­tre of Eden Mills. The idyl­lic out­door read­ings, which take place along the banks of the Eramosa River, run from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tick­ets cost $20 in ad­vance ($15/stu­dents) or $25 at the door ($20/stu­dents).
