Po­lice raid ma­ri­jua­na grow op

A couple hun­dred thou­sand dol­lars worth of ma­ri­jua­na will go up in smoke soon, after a po­lice raid on a grow ope­ra­tion in the City of Cla­rence-Ro­ck­land.

Mark La­brecque, 55, of Cla­ren­ceRo­ck­land, was ar­res­ted and char­ged fol­lo­wing a Ju­ly 19 po­lice raid, as part of the Pro­ject Pa­ra­digm an­ti-drug task force set up th­rough the OPP in Eas­tern On­ta­rio.

The OPP drug en­for­ce­ment unit exe­cu­ted a search war­rant at a re­si­dence in the city, in res­ponse to an in­ves­ti­ga­tion by the Rus­sell OPP’s com­mu­ni­ty drug ac­tion team.

Po­lice sei­zed 292 ma­ri­jua­na plants along with two pounds of har­ves­ted ma­ri­jua­na and 25 grams of can­na­bis ma­ri­jua­na re­sin. To­tal es­ti­ma­ted street va­lue of the sei­zure is $295,000.

La­brecque is char­ged with pos­ses­sion of ma­ri­jua­na, in an amount less than three ki­lo­grams, for the pur­pose of traf­fi­cking, pro­duc­tion of ma­ri­jua­na, and pos­ses­sion of can­na­bis re­sin.
