Ro­ck­land Nats have a win­ning week

The Ro­ck­land Na­tio­nals Ju­nior A had a per­fect week last week, win­ning both their Sep­tem­ber 27 and Sep­tem­ber 29 games, as well as their first game of the month on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 1. The Nats de­fea­ted the Ne­pean Rai­ders 3-1 du­ring a home game at the CIH Are­na on Wed­nes­day, Sep­tem­ber 27 and beat the Kempt­ville 73’s 5-4 in shoo­touts on Fri­day, Sep­tem­ber 29. The Nats took home a se­cond vic­to­ry against the Rai­ders on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 1, do­mi­na­ting them 6-3.

Nats goal­ten­der Sean Storr had a big night for the team against the Rai­ders last Wed­nes­day, stop­ping 31 of 32 shots that came his way. Si­mon Houle, Da­na En­gram and An­toine Le­blanc each pi­cked up a goal for the Nats, while de­fen­se­man Jor­dan Po­wer hel­ped with two as­sists. Jean-Syl­vain-Boyer and Mi­chael Kea­ting al­so pi­cked up an as­sist each.

Jor­dan Po­wer and Aa­ron Bri­se­bois sco­red the two shoo­tout goals against the 73s last Fri­day, while goal­ten­der Sean Storr de­nied Kempt­ville of any shoo­tout goals. Jor­dan Po­wer, Drew Shields, Ma­thieu Blan­chette and Si­mon Houle each pi­cked up a re­gu­la­tion goal. Con­se­quent­ly, Blan­chette was na­med the third star of the game, for his one goal and one as­sist, while Aa­ron Bri­se­bois pi­cked up the first star for his two as­sists and game-win­ning shoo­tout goal.

This past Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 1, the Nats took on the Rai­ders for the se­cond time of the week, al­so de­fea­ting them for the se­cond time. Plen­ty of Nats players took home a goal af­ter this 6-3 vic­to­ry – An­toine Le­blanc sco­red a pair of goals, while Da­na En­gram, Cole La­voie, Ma­thieu Blan­chette and Drew Shields each wal­ked away with one. Le­blanc and En­gram were na­med the first and se­cond stars of the game, res­pec­ti­ve­ly, while the third star was gi­ven to Rai­ders player Mal­colm Ar­se­nau.

These three la­test vic­to­ries leave the Ro­ck­land Nats re­cord at (7-3-1-1) for the sea­son. The Nats will play two back-to-back away games this week, ta­king on the Ka­na­ta La­sers on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 5 at 7:30 p.m. and the Bro­ck­ville Braves on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 6 at the same time. The Nats are home Oc­to­ber 9 for the CCHL Thanks­gi­ving Show­case, in which all 12 CCHL teams will play th­rou­ghout the day. The Nats will take on Kempt­ville at 6:30 p.m.

Les Nats joue­ront contre les La­sers de Ka­na­ta le jeu­di 5 oc­tobre et les Braves de Bro­ck­ville le ven­dre­di 6 oc­tobre. Les Nats re­tour­ne­ront en­suite à l’Are­na CIH le lun­di 9 oc­tobre lors d’une jour­née spé­ciale du CCHL, au cours de la­quelle les 12 équipes de la ligue joue­ront tout au long de la jour­née. Les Nats af­fron­te­ront Kempt­ville à 18h30.—
