This couple was inspired by their modern Vancouver venue to create a celebration filled with lush greenery.

FROM LESLEY: Jerry proposed one night after work. He asked me to have dinner with him at Gotham Steakhouse, and when I walked into the restaurant I saw a bouquet of flowers on the table. After we sat down, he said he had something important to tell me, and began to recall all our times together. He then got down on one knee and popped the question. Our first choice of venue was an outdoor garden, but considering the unstable March weather, we decided to have an indoor wedding. Brix & Mortar was perfect because of its glass roof, which let in a lot of natural light. The courtyard’s decor and ivy-covered walls matched our wedding theme perfectly. We decided on a greenery theme with accents of white and ivory. We both gravitate toward a natural, simple look, and we thought the rustic and elegant styles combined suited us well. I loved all of our decor, but if I had to choose one detail I especially loved, it would be the signing table. For me, it symbolized our new beginning. We wanted to have a small wedding, and since the guests were very close friends and family, we felt incredibly lucky to have them be witnesses to our love. One of my favourite moments was our first dance. I changed into a red dress that would be easier for me to move in. Jerry and I only took two dance lessons, just one week before the wedding. Every time Jerry forgot the steps he would kiss me to cover it up. I thought that was hilariously cute!
