Wedding Bells (West) - - Real Weddings -

FROM ANJALYN: I always knew I wanted a classic, formal look for our wedding, and Emerald Lake Lodge was the perfect venue. It was important to me that our decor complemented the colours of the natural surroundings and the vivid turquoise of Emerald Lake, so I chose lilac as the main hue. To balance out the rustic setting and add a feminine touch, I selected my favourite flowers, peonies and dahlias, in ivory and blush pink. I was so looking forward to seeing Patrick’s reaction during our first look. We planned a lot of the wedding together and I am terrible at keeping secrets, but I managed to keep my dress totally under wraps. I was so excited for him to see me in it for the first time! The jewellery I wore on my big day held huge sentimental value. I wore an heirloom gold ring with ruby and gold inlay, and my mom’s diamond earrings. I also wore a charm bracelet with sentimental charms collected over my entire lifetime, and I put some charms on my bouquet to serve as my something blue, borrowed, old and new. My favourite moment of the day was our first dance. I kept the song I picked for the first dance a secret so I think it caught Patrick off guard—in a good way! I found a romantic version of his favourite song, “I’m Gonna Be” by The Proclaimers, covered by Sleeping at Last, and it was insanely special to see how much it meant to him as it played in the background.
