FROM NICOLE: Jared and I were engaged in Kelowna, B.C., at the beautiful Eldorado Hotel on Lake Okanagan. One afternoon, while I was lounging on one of the rooftop patio beds, Jared asked me to come over to him. Leaving my comfortable spot, I grudgingly did. He got down on one knee, and I said yes! We heard cheers and applause from the people in the boats in the harbour below us, who had witnessed the whole thing. I wanted our wedding to be simple and timeless. We chose plenty of fabulous vintage pieces, such as our altar with vintage doors and rug, sewing table used as a cake and signing table, and brass candlesticks. I also loved the eucalyptus garlands that decorated our venue. Being from Calgary, we are big fans of country music. When we first heard “Die a Happy Man” by Thomas Rhett, we thought it perfectly described how we feel about each other—we don’t need flashy things, and we find so much joy in spending time together. Overall, I loved so many aspects of our day. From getting ready with my girlfriends to hearing Jared’s vows and listening to the speeches, it was truly a special day I’ll never forget.

I WANTED OUR WEDDING TO BE SIMPLE AND TIMELESS.
