FROM SHANTEL: I met Sean on Christmas Day in 2012. A work friend, Sean’s sister, Heather, invited me to her house because my parents were away in Hawaii for the holidays. Sean and I were both dating other people at the time, but there was an instant attraction, and seven months later we went on our first date. Our wedding theme was classic, traditional and definitely unique. We both wanted a wedding that was truly different and out of the ordinary; an event our guests would remember for years to come. I was the last of my siblings to be married, so I really wanted my parents to be proud of the celebration. For the decor we chose a palette that included rose gold, navy and slate grey. We also incorporated subtle pops of colour through the stunning floral bouquets, which featured proteas, orchids, roses and plenty of greenery. The handmade rose-gold frames hanging from the venue ceiling really tied everything together and added an elegant, memorable touch. I surprised Sean by having his wedding band engraved with the words “Forever my Strength.” He teared up when he saw it, and again when he said his vows. It was an unforgettable moment!
