ASK the EXPERTS
wedding season has been in full effect in our office over the last few months. Between our sister magazines FASHION and Glow, we had five brides in our midst whose celebrations were sprinkled throughout high-wedding season (July to October). Seeing our colleagues’ gorgeous and unique events come to life was a special treat for us at Weddingbells, as we often play the unofficial role of wedding planner, suggesting everything from venues and vendors to dress styles, and acting as a calming force in the busy days before wedding go-time. That’s our job. As Canada’s leading wedding-media experts, consider us your planner and best friend—someone you can reach out to any time to help with each and every moment of your wedding day. We’re here to be an ear and to provide guidance when it comes to challenging tasks like managing your wedding budget and guest list, creating a menu to please every palate, and controlling your event’s social media presence. Of course we also aim to inspire you with cool and exclusive ideas for your party—find inspo daily on our website, across all our social channels and here in the magazine in the pages that follow.
In this issue we have tons of amazing bridal fashion inspiration. Check out the top haute gowns fresh from the New York runways (p. 56), then read on to see how we’re styling some of the best dresses. If you favour classic elegance with a dash of drama, you’ll love “Ethereal Girl” (p. 47). For a more relaxed vibe, see our take on modern boho in “Field of Dreams” (p. 136). Rounding out the fashion finds is “Taking Flight” (p. 144), where we showcase our eight favourite bridal-gown trends, each dramatic and equally statement making.
Other faves in this issue include exquisite bouquets that smell as good as they look (“Aromatherapy” p. 100), a supersweet cake trend that’s crystalline cool (“Rock It” p. 95), and 37 beauty essentials you need for your wedding (p. 71). Also see four of our office’s brides featured in this issue—look for the real weddings of Caitlin, Emily, Nicole and Beth!
We’d love to see and share your real wedding— visit weddingbells.ca to submit. Follow us on social @weddingbellsmag so you don’t miss a minute of daily inspo; and #BTS looks at what we are doing, where we’re going and what’s inspiring us.
