Weddingbells (Toronto) - - REAL WEDDINGS -

FROM LORELLE: I met Scott when I was in Grade 12 and he was in first year at Western University. I was visiting the school on a cross- country recruiting trip, and let’s just say that after meeting Scott, enrolling there was an easy choice! We chatted on MSN all summer, and then started dating that September when I moved to London, Ontario. We wanted a modern but rustic venue that didn’t need much decoration. Steam Whistle Brewing’s high ceilings, big windows, exposed brick and wooden beams were perfect for our wedding style. Ultimately, all we wanted was a personal ceremony, a good meal and great music to dance to, and Steam Whistle delivered all of that. Scott was adamant about choosing “wood” as our wedding colour to “match the venue.” In the end, we decided on a palette of a white, green and dusty pink. The bridesmaids wore green and pink dresses, the bouquets were white and green, and the centrepieces were made up of greenery with white pillar candles on a live-edge wooden charger (for Scott). Walking down the aisle with my dad was my favourite moment of the day. Turning the corner to see Scott waiting patiently, with all of our friends and family surrounding me, was pretty surreal. There’s really nothing else like it!
