Weddingbells (Toronto) - - REAL WEDDINGS -

FROM NATALIE: Simon and I met at a New Year’s Eve party hosted by my roommate. Call it cliché, but as soon as he walked in the room, I knew he was the man I wanted to get old and wrinkly with. We’ve been inseparable ever since. Simon proposed in New York City with a three- round trivia game. Each round of the game had a different prize: the first round was tickets to a comedy show that night, the second round was a trip to Jamaica the next morning and the third round was a love letter, in which he said I’m his best friend and he couldn’t think of spending the rest of his life with anyone else, and I agreed, of course! Our wedding had a garden theme with an industrial edge. We wanted to have a beautiful but relaxed party in an unexpected place, so we chose District 28— an urban event space with a super- hip vibe— as our venue. To match the unique look of the space, we chose a palette of lilac and deep plum, with lots of greenery and cream accents. The food was definitely a highlight of the day. Mark McEwan did an incredible job— everything was so delicious! I especially loved the amazing lobster spoons.
