FROM STEFANIE: We chose not to have an overall theme, but we did want things to look cohesive. We took a lot of inspiration from the reception venue, the Design Exchange, and its streamlined, modern style. We wanted to play with balance, proportion and shape for the decor. To infuse our personalities into the wedding visuals we included pinks and reds, colours we both love. They played really well with the warm tones at the venue. Our best and most vivid memory is at the church, right before the ceremony. Rondie and I didn’t do a first look, so the moment the double doors opened was the very first time we saw each other that day. We could not stop smiling. Hands down, our favourite wedding detail was the flowers. Jordana from White Oak Flower is one of the most creative and talented people we’ve ever met. She understood our vision perfectly and brought it all to life. Since we trusted her so much, we were pretty hands-off and let her do her thing. Our jaws dropped when we got to the venue and saw how everything came together. I adored my wedding gown and cape combination. I knew I wanted a clean, sleek silhouette, with a glamorous look, and this dress was exactly that. Pairing the Theia dress with the Berta cape added drama and dimension, and brought the whole look together. Plus, who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle? Our first dance was “Kiss From a Rose” by Seal. This was one of the easiest choices we made. We are both huge karaoke fanatics and this is Rondie’s go-to karaoke song. He loves to sing it to me—or to anyone who will listen! We were laughing and smiling through the whole first dance as the song played. We don’t like to take ourselves too seriously and we loved that it was a bit of a silly moment.
