Sur­rey Fu­sion Fes­ti­val Will Rock Hol­land Park this July

The City of Sur­rey in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Coast Cap­i­tal Sav­ings is hold­ing BC’s largest mul­ti­cul­tural cel­e­bra­tion, Sur­rey Fu­sion Fes­ti­val at Hol­land Park on July 20 & 21, 2013 with an in­cred­i­ble spec­trum of mu­sic and cul­ture tak­ing place on four stages. Last year’s event at­tracted over 100,000 peo­ple! Head­lin­ing on Satur­day night is Cana­dian rap­per, k-os. His in­no­va­tive sound has gar­nered mul­ti­ple Juno and Much Mu­sic Video Award nom­i­na­tions plus a Grammy nom­i­na­tion. His record­ings have achieved plat­inum sales and the au­di­ence will be wowed with his unique fu­sion of rock and hip-hop. To close the event on Sun­day evening, there will be a spec­ta­cle of Bol­ly­wood that will cel­e­brate 100 years of Bol­ly­wood Cin­ema, and will in­clude Bol­ly­wood singers, pian­ists, drum­mers and dancers. Also per­form­ing this year are hip­sters The Zola’s, South Asian vo­cal­ist Sh­weta Subram, in­die rock band Zerbin, Peak Per­for­mance fi­nal­ists Jor­dan Klassen and hip hop artist Kyprios. Jim Byrnes and Steve Daw­son will be cel­e­brat­ing 15 years of mu­si­cal col­lab­o­ra­tions with a spe­cial set. New this year is an en­ter­tain­ment line-up on Satur­day af­ter­noon geared to se­niors with Dix­ieland per­form­ers, cho­rus groups and even se­niors’ bhangra danc­ing. Ad­di­tion­ally, Sun­day morn­ing will fea­ture a new chil­dren’s mati­nee with pup­pets, sto­ries, singers and the BC Ju­nior Tal­ent Search win­ners.
