Where Calgary - - DINING - —G.R.

From weekend brunch through to late-night drinks, this restaurantbar beckons at almost any hour of the day. The lower bar is a cozy section of couches and chairs centered by a fireplace, while the main restaurant area is separated into smaller sections. Macramé wall hangings, saucy photos of film stars, and stylized artwork give it all a sense of being caught in a time capsule, but the food and cocktails are modern and creative. Executive chef JP Pedhirney has borrowed from all cuisines in creating a menu that focuses on shareable dishes including a Szechuan-dressed double-cut pork chop with apple and cilantro, an earthy carpaccio with mushroom salad, and a beet salad with a deep purple blackberry vinaigrette (page 46).
