MUMFORD & SONS

Where Ottawa - - Here & Now -

JUNE 12

With instruments such as the banjo, fiddle, and a nail and a piano string contributing to Mumford & Sons’ sonic mélange, the British group’s early music was heralded as part of a folk-rock revival. eir new album, Wilder Mind, is an intentional detour into alternative rock, but their long-time fans need not be worried. e band’s new material is as lyrical, powerful, and sentimental as anything from Sigh No More and Babel. Expect a healthy mix of new and old when they take the stage at the Canadian Tire Centre. (p. 37)
