CANADIAN TULIP FESTIVAL
MAY 12-23 tulipfestival.ca
For people who like… to stop and smell the tulips: e city is in full bloom during this celebration of the historic ties forged between Canada and the Netherlands during the Second World War, including Ottawa providing refuge to Dutch Princess Juliana. She sent a Royal thank you gift of 100,000 bulbs in gratitude, and a free festival of music, dance and family fun has developed around this annual floral tradition.
Insider's Scoop – Laura Brown Breetvelt, Executive and Artistic Director of the Canadian Tulip Festival: "We are launching our first ever whimsical Indoor Tulip and Sculpture Garden inside the iconic Aberdeen Pavilion located at Lansdowne Park, Ottawa’s newest hot spot. We are celebrating the tulip legacy with international art, artisan displays, family programs, and live entertainment in a themed garden space that will be a feast for everyone’s eyes, and provide a weatherproof solution in case of rainy weather in May."
