In 1892, Lord Stanley awarded the country’s top amateur hockey club with a trophy — a chalice that has since become a Canadian holy grail. A capital birthday party for the national obsession’s 125th will include a tribute concert (MARCH 17) at the Canadian Tire Centre, a ground-breaking ceremony for a new Stanley Cup monument on Sparks Street (MARCH 18), and a meet-and-greet with the Cup and hockey legends at Lansdowne’s Aberdeen Pavilion (MARCH 17).
