Art is Art + Juno Photography

Where Ottawa - - HERE & NOW -

Canadian tunesmiths are far from one-trick ponies. You can see for yourself at the exhibition Art is Art, for which musicians were commissioned to create original artworks inspired by the connection between music and visual art. Participants include Chantal Kreviazuk, Coeur de Pirate, Hugh Dillon (Headstones), Jann Arden, Kevin Drew (Broken Social Scene), Lights, Randy Bachman, Serena Ryder, and Tom Wilson. Meanwhile, backstage, candid moments, and classic performances by such famous Canadian musicians as Anne Murray, Gordon Lightfoot, and Stompin’ Tom Connors, will be revealed in the Juno Photography Exhibition. It features nearly 50 images taken by Canada’s foremost rock and roll photographers. The images also appeared in the Juno Awards’ 40th Anniversary book, Music From Far and Wide. Both exhibits will be at the Ottawa Art Gallery Annex at City Hall from March 10 to April 16.
