July 22 to Aug. 4
Scene Setter: Intimate, beautiful venues with great acoustics. Yes, there will be classical music (think string quartets), but this chamber echoes across various genres — from a capella and pop music, to one-of-a-kind tribute shows.
Seen and Heard: Cool off! In partnership with the NAC’s Canada Scene, singer-songwriter Danny Michel performs Khlebnikov, an album he wrote and recorded on a Russian icebreaker in the Arctic (July
23). Feel patriotic with the Canadian National Brass Project (July 26). Pay homage to cultural masters at an all-star musical tribute to Stanley Kubrick (July 30), or Art of Time Ensemble’s re-imagining of The Beatles’ album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Aug. 4). Modern master, pianist Angela Hewitt, explores the work of J.S. Bach (July 20).
