July 5-15 ottawabluesfest.ca Ottawa’s largest music festival is easily its favourite and it’s not hard to see why. Every scorching July, the lawn outside of the Canadian Museum of War is home to a massive mix of local talent and global superstars. The lineups cater to all genres and tastes, from good old-fashioned blues to hip hop, country, rock, pop, and electronic dance music. Highlights of this year’s festival include Foo Fighters (July 10),
Bryan Adams (July 5), Beck (July 13), Ghostface
Killah (July 7), and Dave Matthews Band (July 11).
Ian Anderson (July 6) will celebrate his 50th anniversary as the voice and creative energy of
Jethro Tull. Up-and-coming acts include the Californian hip hop boy band BROCKHAMPTON
(July 6), New Zealand’s pop R&B singer Kimbra
(July 7), and Australian indie rock troubadour and songstress Courtney Barnett (July 11).
