Pas­try pow­er­house Ladurée (page 97) is known for fly­ing their con­fetti-coloured mac­arons in fresh from France. Re­cently, they flew in an­other crowd-pleaser from the City of Lights: pas­try chef Mick­aël de Monte. His ar­rival means that for the first time, the famed Parisian patis­serie will of­fer their full range of pas­tries and cakes in Van­cou­ver. Fresh ar­rivals in­clude the in­dul­gent pra­line mille­feuille, bright lemon-meringue tart and fra­grant crois­sant à la rose—just to name a few. Now that’s a flight of fancy.—Jill Von Sprecken
