Go for Gold

Where Vancouver - - Dining -

Foodies love all the decadent dining options clustered in the “golden triangle” formed by Fraser Street, Kingsway and East 15th Avenue. One tiny restaurant and cocktail bar has set the gold standard since it opened two years ago: Crowbar (pictured; page 90) boasts champagnebottle sabering, an extensive list of local ciders, and cocktails named after ’90s movie characters, including Walter Sobchak, Jules Winnfield and Mallory Knox. On the plate, nose-to-tail dishes change constantly, depending on both what’s in season and the whims of the chef. And along the exposed-brick wall, quirky knickknacks rub shoulders with an intoxicating collection of booze. Definitely a winning combination. Other nearby restaurants with the golden touch include Savio Volpe (page 90) and Les Faux Bourgeois (page 90).
