Where Vancouver - - Dining -

Hop aboard False Creek Ferries (page 70) to Granville Island, and you’ll dock just a few steps from Popina Canteen (listed below). This casual outdoor eatery— with its kitchen housed in a radically repurposed shipping container—is the brainchild of four Vancouver chefs. City stalwarts Angus An, Hamid Salimian, Joël Watanabe and Robert Belcham wanted to collaborate for years. And the Granville Island Public Market helped make it all happen, shoreside at that, with the bonus of stunning bridge and creek views. Drop by for lobster rolls, steamed Dungeness crab, fancy toasts, healthy salads and soft-serve cream puffs, alongside BC brews, bubbles and seasonal cocktails.—Tim Pawsey
