Wiarton Job Fair
The Wiarton & District Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with VPI Inc., will host the 5th annual Wiarton and district community job fair, March 8.
The event will be open to job seekers from 5 to 8 p.m. upstairs at the Wiarton Community Centre & Arena.
Last year, over 25 employers and support organizations and 240 job searchers attended the event.
The Chamber of Commerce is advising those searching for employment to dress for a job interview and bring their resume.
Local employers will have booths where they can answer questions and accept resumes for full-time careers, part-time employment or summer positions.
“A Job Fair is an excellent way to save time while looking for employment and creating connections in the business community,” said a news release from the Wiarton & District Chamber of Commerce.
VPI Inc., the Bruce County service provider of Employment Ontario funded programs – sponsored in part by the Government of Canada – will have Bruce County summer student job applications available for both employers and job seekers. VPI Inc. will accept all complete applications that day.
They will also be available to answer questions about employment funding opportunities, including hiring and training incentives.
The job fair will also give employers an opportunity to network, said the Chamber of Commerce news release.
The event is free for members of the public to attend.
