Grand Ole Opry North coming to Hepworth
The popular Grand Ole Opry Hepworth North show returns for its 5th annual concert at the Hepworth Shallow Lake Legion – Music Hall of Fame auditorium this Saturday.
Bognor Jam is well known for promoting young and upcoming talent. That’s where 18-year-old Madison Shaw of Oliphant fits in. Shaw takes the stage for the first time with the True Country Show band.
Thanks to Paul Williamson and his band Detour, Shaw has already had some experience in front of an audience. “The Opry will certainly add to her resume,” noted Arnie Clark, associate producer of Bognor Jam.
“We’ve done a number of shows there over the years, but the Opry event is special,” Bill Murdoch, producer of the Bognor Jam’s Opry country music show, said. “Like Nashville, our own Opry evening provides some diverse entertainment, plus honours and recognizes the many talented musicians and singers that are such a big cultural part of the twin counties.”
This year’s show features the True Country Show band along with the True Heart Trio vocalists, Sue Murdoch, Karen May and Justine Farrar.
The band will also back some very special guests including Pam Millsap, of south Texas. Millsap is no stranger to country, bluegrass and gospel music, having enjoyed a career entertaining at many venues across the USA including Branson, Missouri.
The guest list also includes the ever-popular Beckett clan with family members, Stan and Bill Beckett, John and Tyler. Local country crooner, Amanda Dorey and wellknown rodeo host and comedian, Terry Mokriy of Feversham, are also featured.
The Opry will also offer some feature tunes by Kenny ’Keyboard’ Fromager, Buck ’O Williams Jr., Gordy Cottrill, Lloyd Williamson and his son, Paul Williamson.
The concert starts at 7 p.m. and will be recorded live by Country 93 Radio. Tickets are $25 and are available in Hepworth at Cindy’s Variety and in Owen Sound at David Fromager’s Music & More, Bayshore Country Feeds and Long and Oliphant’s Madison Shaw will make a guest appearance at the 5th annual Grand Ole Opry North in Hepworth, Oct. 14 McQuade. Tickets will be available at the door. Music fans are advised to arrive early as seating is limited.
