Thank you for great teachers

Windsor Star - - OPINION -

Many of us have memories of what our teachers did for us. We were given lessons to advance our intelligence and challenge our thinking. We had sports equipment to develop camaraderie and skill.

I write this letter to acknowledge what we had in the spring of 1968 at St. Jude School on Locke Street. We had microscopes.

Miss Carla Truant brought in a microscope for each student in the Grade 8 class. I was introduced to a tiny world which totally captured me.

It was because of Miss Truant’s action that I became a medical laboratory technologist, which I have been for 40 years now. I often wonder what career I would be in if Miss Truant had not brought those microscopes into the classroom.

Thank you, Mrs. Carla Corrado (nee Truant). I believe this is your 50th anniversary of teaching.
