Man charged over intimate videos
A Windsor man has been charged with distributing intimate videos of his ex-girlfriend without her consent. Windsor police say that during a relationship between a 27-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, the couple consensually created intimate image videos. The man was arrested and charged for assaulting the woman in May and released on the condition of not contacting the woman. On July 21, the woman told police that her ex-boyfriend sent copies of the videos to acquaintances over the internet without her permission. The man is charged with publication of an intimate image without consent and fail to comply with a recognizance. Police remind the community that distribution of intimate images without consent is a criminal offence with a penalty of up to five years in prison. “Consenting to an image being captured always carries the risk as to where that image will or may end up down the road sometime in the future,” police said in a statement.
