Windsor Star - - CITY + REGION -

The province’s Special Investigations Unit has determined that Windsor police officers were not at fault after a man jumped off a roof and fractured his leg. “The complainant declined to participate in the SIU investigation,” said Tony Loparco, director of the Special Investigations Unit. “Further, the available evidence shows that WPS officers did nothing to contribute to the man’s injury. Accordingly, I have terminated the investigation into this incident.” Police received a 911 call on Sept. 11 about a fight at a home in the Ottawa Street and Parent Avenue area. The SIU said that when officers arrived, a 26-year-old man jumped off the roof. He landed on a cement driveway and fractured his lower left leg.
