Whin­ing and cry­ing might not be any­thing new on Par­lia­ment Hill, but it took on a new con­text yes­ter­day dur­ing ques­tion pe­riod. The voice that briefly echoed through the House of Com­mons be­longed to three-month-old Ulysses, perched on the knee of his fa­ther, Bloc MP Xavier Barsa­lou-Du­val, who is mar­ried to col­league Mar­i­lene Gill, the first pair of sit­ting MPs to be­come par­ents. Ulysses is the lat­est tot to en­ter the po­lit­i­cal lime­light. Sheila Copps broke ground in the 1980s by bring­ing her daugh­ter into the mem­bers’ lobby.
