OPP name worker killed on the job

Po­lice have re­leased the name of the man who died in an in­ci­dent at a con­crete girder com­pany on Walker Road last week. Michael Ger­ald Cobb, 24, was killed April 12 at a work site be­long­ing to Pre­stressed Sys­tems Inc. (PSI). A sec­ond worker suf­fered se­ri­ous in­juries. Ar­range­ments for Cobb have been made with McKin­lay Fu­neral Homes in Chatham. Ac­cord­ing to Cobb’s obit­u­ary, he was born and raised in Chatham. He is sur­vived by his par­ents four sib­lings, two nieces, and many ex­tended fam­ily mem­bers. On­tario’s Min­istry of Labour is con­tin­u­ing to in­ves­ti­gate the mishap. Pre­stressed Sys­tems Inc. is a Wind­sor-based com­pany that man­u­fac­tures and in­stalls con­crete struc­tures and com­po­nents for build­ing and in­fras­truc­ture projects. LIUNA Lo­cal 625, which rep­re­sents PSI em­ploy­ees, has sug­gested that an equip­ment mal­func­tion caused the mishap.
