Open house set for Howe bridge
The Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority is hosting a public open house Tuesday for residents interested in learning more about the Gordie Howe International Bridge project. The event takes place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. inside the Court Auditorium at Mackenzie Hall, located at 3277 Sandwich St. Presentations will take place at 3:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Staff will be on hand to answer questions about the project. The private-sector consortium tasked with constructing the Howe bridge will be selected by the bridge authority in June with construction scheduled to begin this fall. The project includes the crossing, plazas and new feeder roads in Detroit to link with the I-75 freeway.
