Double standard on drugs, alcohol

Windsor Star - - OPINION -

Re: Police resources are ‘stretched,’ chief declares, by Dalson Chen, Sept. 22.

Windsor Police have a right to be frustrated. The police do a very good job catching the bad guy, then the justice system often gives the perpetrator a slap on the wrist, and usually releases them with conditions.

In many cases, the person or persons caught in a criminal act already have conditions on them, such as breach of recognizance and breach of probation.

The people who want safe injection sites for drug addicts, to oversee and help addicts get off drugs, is commendable.

I wonder, however, do people with an alcohol problem at Brentwood get alcohol to ween them off the booze? Just a thought.
