Trucker charged in 401 crash

A 59-year-old trucker is facing a careless driving charge in connection to the tractor trailer he was driving crashing into a cement barrier on Highway 401, east of Chatham early Wednesday morning. Chatham-Kent OPP were called to the crash near Scane Road around 4:15 a.m., which closed the eastbound lanes between Communication Road and Victoria Road until about 9 a.m. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle sustained extensive damage.
