Canucks, Pen­guins swing a deal

VAN­COU­VER — The Van­cou­ver Canucks ac­quired for­ward Bran­don Sut­ter and a third-round NHL draft pick Tues­day from the Pittsburgh Pen­guins. In ex­change, the Canucks have sent for­ward Nick Bonino, de­fence­man Adam Clen­den­ing and a sec­ond-round pick in 2016 to Pittsburgh.

The third-round se­lec­tion ac­quired by Van­cou­ver will be the ear­lier pick of two held by Pittsburgh.

Sut­ter, 26, recorded 21 goals and 12 as­sists in 80 games with Pittsburgh dur­ing the 2014-15 sea­son.

Bonino was ac­quired by the Canucks last off-sea­son in the deal that sent for­ward Ryan Kesler to the Ana­heim Ducks.

The 27-year-old had 15 goals and 24 as­sists in 75 games last sea­son.
