Canucks, Penguins swing a deal
VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Canucks acquired forward Brandon Sutter and a third-round NHL draft pick Tuesday from the Pittsburgh Penguins. In exchange, the Canucks have sent forward Nick Bonino, defenceman Adam Clendening and a second-round pick in 2016 to Pittsburgh.
The third-round selection acquired by Vancouver will be the earlier pick of two held by Pittsburgh.
Sutter, 26, recorded 21 goals and 12 assists in 80 games with Pittsburgh during the 2014-15 season.
Bonino was acquired by the Canucks last off-season in the deal that sent forward Ryan Kesler to the Anaheim Ducks.
The 27-year-old had 15 goals and 24 assists in 75 games last season.
